PARENTING CLASSES

We offer a variety of parenting classes using materials from Essentials of Discipline with James Dobson and Homes of Honor with Gary Smalley, both recognized leaders in the field of parenting, in addition to materials from many other recognized parenting experts. Classes such as "Teaching Limits with Love" and "1-2-3 Magic" are just a few of the courses offered to encourage successful parenting.


We use a nationally acclaimed program called Earn While You Learn, where mothers are paid in points that can then be used to shop in Sara Elizabeth's Closet for items such as diapers, clothing and many other baby needs.  


Infant Parenting Classes include such topics as bathing, diapering, feeding, safety, discipline and the importance of Dads. Listen to audio on parenting advise and tips.



Toddler to Teen Parenting Classes include topics such as personality types of children & parents, discipline, self-esteem and whether to spank or not.


Please make an appointment and we will customize a parenting plan that works for your family.


Sometimes parents find themselves in a situation where they have become involved in the Child Protective Services System and are being required to take parenting classes.  We offer these classes, meeting the standards set by Child Protective Services and provide a "Certificate" of completion to anyone completing the course.  Please call our office at 830-792-5644 to register, as these classes are limited.

Who better to advise you in developing your childrearing skills than Dr. James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family. Dr. Dobson has been encouraging parents since the late 1970’s on various aspects of child training. Dr. Dobson believes in the benefits of loving discipline properly applied. This 12-session DVD parenting seminar provides insights into why a child needs discipline, discerning between irresponsibility and defiance, anger vs. action, finding balance in discipline, spanking or not, compliant vs defiant, changing the methods of discipline with age, protecting the child’s spirit, raising the strong-willed adolescent, and keeping your priorities straight. Much of the presentation is Dr. Dobson speaking into the camera, but other video clips and animation clips are used as well.
